Due to AO3 downtime slightly late but open. You can now sign up here! Signups will remain open until 20:00 UTC on Sunday, 13 July. View the countdown here.
- Signup form - Tagset If your tag isn't here, please send me an email at tentaclemod@gmail.com with the fandom and relationship you are missing, and a link to the pairing on ao3 with the eligibility filters applied. - Requests summary - Signup summary - Rules Post
You can request 3-10 fandoms and offer 4-10 fandoms with 1-20 ships and 1-3 media (fic and/or art and/or podfic) in each.
You are only guaranteed to match on one fandom/ship/medium.
You can only request fandoms and relationships that have been nominated and appear in the tagset.
You can request a fandom more than once (if you want to request more than 20 ships, or you want to request a particular medium for some ships and not others). However, you must still request at least 3 unique fandoms.
You cannot offer a fandom more than once.
Only reasonable Do Not Wants (DNWs) listed in your signup will be enforced.
Do not list "unrequested kinks" as a DNW as this frequently causes confusion. Please be specific to avoid disappointment.
Do not indicate that you prefer one of your requests over the others; do not rank requests in order of preference. Your gift creator is only guaranteed to know one of your fandoms.
If you request or offer Original Work: matching does not differentiate between this and other fandoms; it is not to be considered a "backup" and you might match on it even if your other fandoms have requests/offers.
Any questions, feel free to comment here or email me at tentaclemod@gmail.com.

Challenge #72: What Makes You Happy
We all need some positive vibes these days, so this month the challenge is to draw or paint anything that makes you happy, or that makes your favourite characters happy. It could be a person, a place, a garden, a cup of tea or coffee, a pet, a stack of books - anything at all!
If you're into Star Trek, Spock could be what makes Jim happy, or for Blackbeard, it might be Stede. You can draw something fannish, or something personal, as long as it makes you or your characters happy.
A round-up post for submissions to this challenge will be done at the end of July.
just not for long, for long ⌛ (larissa) wrote2025-07-0310:39 pm
i guess it's not really a liveblog since i'm writing this after the fact. whatever.
anyway, i've finished trails sc! took about 55 hours; thank god for the turbo button during some of the more tedious parts. a spoiler-free review is below, followed by indepth talk on chapter 8 and the final chapter.
Lives up to its predecessor in terms of scope of world and story, but gets bogged down by so-so villains in sharp contrast to the excellent character writing of the main party. The majority of the game retreads areas from FC, though the new dungeons are a joy to explore. Worth it for Estelle and her story, but some patience is required to tolerate the parts in between.
on to 3rd! i think i'll start it tonight, but i may not get further for a few days. also, now that i've finished SC, i'm looking forward to the FC remake even more... there were some callbacks in SC to stuff i'd really quite forgotten in FC, and it'd be nice to revisit. the new graphics are truly gorgeous; i saw a gifset today and just about cried seeing kloe in motion. THAT'S MY GIRL.
As usual, this challenge as well as all of our previous challenges will remain open, so you can continue to submit entries to the community any time after the Round Up date. Be sure to tag your art post with the challenge name, so that it can be added to the list.
Thanks to all who participated in this challenge! :)

Need to get some words in? The Weekend Writing Marathon (WWM) is a writing challenge designed to help you do just that. You set your own writing goal for the weekend and work to achieve it before reporting back to the group on Sunday night.
How do I participate?
1. Reply to this post with your weekend writing plans–be as specific (or not) as you’d like.
2. Start writing on Friday 12:01 am local time. Work to meet your goal by Sunday night at 11:59 pm local time. You can work on whatever you want during this time.
3. Post your accomplishments to the Finish Line post at the end of the weekend (even if you didn’t reach your goal).
How do I report my accomplishments?
A Finish Line post will go up on Sunday. Reblog that post with your final word count/accomplished goal(s) by Monday at midnight local time. Totals from the weekend will be posted on Tuesday.
This challenge is currently running on 2 platforms: pillowfort, and dreamwidth. If you sign up on this platform, please respond to the Finish Line post on this platform.
I dreamed of Number Five from The Umbrella Academy a fortnight ago, and now I'm rewatching S1 & S2 and my brain is being eaten alive by feels. I haven't seen S3-4 yet, and since I have heard many terrible things about the series finale, I'm a bit worried, but I'll definitely at least watch S3 once I'm done with my rewatch.
It's been quite a few months since I was really obsessing over a piece of media, and it feels so nice to have proper blorbos again!
I love Five a normal amount. I'm surprised Aidan Gallagher isn't utterly ripped from carrying the whole show. What a fantastic character, and such stunning acting skills from someone who was literally 14 when they started filming for S1. What. When I was 14, I was failing math class and starting to write Yu-Gi-Oh fanfiction.
Anyway, so naturally, I've been perusing AO3 and reading everything I can get my hands on. Normally I'm not that picky about fanfics, but it seems that with Five-centric stuff, I am! So far, I have found only one series I like, and the rest was kind of meh. That never happens to me. But I constantly find myself going, 'He would not say this. There's no way he'd do that. He would not fucking say that.' Ha. I can see where this is going. I'm gonna dig up my old post-S2 AU fic that I started writing in 2020.
My writing server is doing a July camp event! It's a lot of fun! We all get points for completing different tasks each day (start a new scene; edit one page; reach your daily word count goal, etc.) and then get to play around on a "world map" Excel sheet based on which things we did. It's just a large expanse of green squares, and when we've got enough points we can set up a tent, till fields, grow trees, and such--by inserting emojis into the green squares. It's kind of Stardew Valley-like, but with writing. I love everything about this, Our admins are amazing at coming up with this stuff.
My July writing has started slow, on account of all the TUA fangirling. Also, we had our first big heatwave this week. 39 degrees (102F), in houses built to store and preserve heat, with no AC! It was... not fun. But I had a Discord date with my girlfriend on Wednesday, which made the so-far hottest day of the year infinitely better!
5. How long (realistically) do you think you'll be friends?
Copy and paste to your own journal, then reply to this post with a link to your answers. If your journal is private or friends-only, you can post your full answers in the comments below.
If you'd like to suggest questions for a future Friday Five, then do so on DreamWidth or LiveJournal. Old sets that were used have been deleted, so we encourage you to suggest some more!
**Remember that we rely on you, our members, to help keep the community going. Also, please remember to play nice. We are all here to answer the questions and have fun each week. We repost the questions exactly as the original posters submitted them and request that all questions be checked for spelling and grammatical errors before they're submitted. Comments re: the spelling and grammatical nature of the questions are not necessary. Honestly, any hostile, rude, petty, or unnecessary comments need not be posted, either.**
Once upon a time, I was friends with a guy named Jim. A very, very few of you might know him. Almost all of you won’t.
I walked away some years ago, blocked him on the socials over his support for the fascist, because I said that the fascist’s promises absolutely, positively, literally required American concentration camps, and that’s what he was supporting by supporting the fascist, and I could not abide that…
…and yet, he carried on, saying I was a fool, and that none of it would ever happen.
(I asked him then why did he support someone he insisted was lying to him. I do not remember getting an answer, before I quit.)
So now that we have American concentration camps…
…and now that people with direct access to the fascist are talking about sending literally every American citizen of Latino heritage there to die…
(it will require more concentration camps than that, of course, but that’s a detail which makes no difference)
I wonder…
…has he yet been moved to repentance?
Or is he still a good and solid member of that wretched cult?
It’s immaterial now, of course. We are long past the point where the pebbles’ opinions matter, and crimes already done cannot be undone.
But once in a while, I think of it.
And for a moment – a pointless, irrelevant moment – I still wonder.

How does it go? Are your tricksters good at what they do, or could they use a little more practice? Do your other characters enjoy the experience?
